Great Gold in Concurso Nacional de Pequeñas DOs

Technical sheet:

Aging: 10 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature.

Varietal: 100% Hondarrabi Zuri.

Climate: The year 2014 in Aia was characterized by a winter and spring with great rainfall and higher temperatures than normal. The summer was warm but with abundant rainfall, although this aspect did not delay the excellent ripening of the grapes, being one of the earliest harvests in our history. During the harvest there was no rainfall until just the end of it.

Vineyard: 15 hectares of 100% Hondarribi-Zuri grape varietal planted on trellis framework at some 300m. above sea level.

Soil: Soil undulating topography formed by shale, laminated slate and granite.

Winemaking: Manual selection of the grapes, a cold pre-fermentation maceration period, and then fermentation in small stainless steel tanks with own yeasts.

Winemaker: Lauren Rosillo
